DeLorean Track Day with the Lotus Car Club

The DMC Club has been invited to participate in the Lotus Car Club Track Day at the Autobahn Country Club near Joliet, IL. This event will be on a Monday, since it will include both the North and South tracks (3.56 miles total), which is only available on Mondays.

Some of the rules and pre-registration requirements listed below:

• Car must have no major leaks of any kind (slight seep or dribble OK)
• Car must have new brake fluid to pass the Tech Inspection
• Car must have new (or close to new) brake pads to pass Tech Inspection
• Driver must have an SA95 or newer Race Helmet (no motorcycle helmets)

Some DeLorean-specific Recommendations for track use:

• Car should be equipped with upgraded stainless steel brake lines
• Car should be equipped with upgraded stainless steel clutch line (5-spd)
• Car should be equipped with high speed rated tires less than 5 years old
• Car should be equipped with upgraded and/or new trailing arm bolts

Limited to a total of 90 participants, with 30 in each of 3 categories:

• Novice 30 (not necessarily beginner)
• Intermediate 30 (this catagory fills up first)
• Advanced 30 (includes higher HP Lotus V8s)

Instructors will be on hand to assist drivers with all aspects of track driving techniques, as well as assisting with hints about driving this specific track (i.e. how to take specific turns, downshifting, etc.) at no additional costs to all registered, participating drivers.

The cost for the full day use of both courses is $245 per driver.
